We were in Morzine for the 8th edition of Motors Addict Léman Classic

From August 28 to 30, we took part in the 8th edition of Motors Addict Léman Classic in Morzine. This year, the event brought together classic cars, GTs and numerous enthusiasts from Switzerland, France and the surrounding region.
The organizers set up a small village with several marquees and various exhibitors, particularly specializing in bodywork, restoration and automotive craftsmanship. The atmosphere was friendly and welcoming.
For this trip, Gentleman Car travelled with a truly exceptional combination: Carroll Shelby’s motorhome, towing the Shelby Cobra 289 FIA, which had already been presented at the 2026 Tour Auto.
A Eventful Arrival in Morzine
The journey to Morzine did not go exactly as planned. On the road, the motorhome ran over a piece of metal lying on the road. At a sustained speed, the tire blew out and came off the rim.
The situation was quite dramatic, especially as we were coming out of a tunnel where there was no real emergency lane. Fortunately, our driver Éric managed to keep control of the vehicle and bring us to a safe stop.
We immediately called 112. Road safety crews arrived within five to ten minutes to secure the area and manage traffic. A breakdown service then arrived about an hour later.
We would like to highlight the efficiency of the French emergency services, who responded quickly to secure the situation.
We finally arrived in Morzine at around 9 p.m. and prepared the setup for the following day.
The Shelby Cobra 289 FIA Attracted Plenty of Attention
The following morning, we unloaded the Cobra. The car quickly attracted visitors and enthusiasts at the event.
We took the car out for a few laps to give the public the opportunity to discover the Cobra and enjoy seeing it in action.
Carroll Shelby’s motorhome also generated a great deal of curiosity. Many people came to see it, and several visitors had the opportunity to step inside.
The combination attracted people of all ages. Both children and adults were fascinated by the car and the motorhome.
A special mention goes to our visitors from Paris, who came especially to meet us and see the cars.
These encounters were among the highlights of the weekend. The event gave us the opportunity to meet fellow enthusiasts, reconnect with people we had previously met at rallies and share these cars with the public.
Approximately 100 Kilometres per Day
Over the three days, we covered approximately 100 kilometres per day.
We drove part of the routes organized for the event, but we mainly spent time with the visitors. The presence of the Cobra and the motorhome generated a great deal of interest, and we took the opportunity to meet and talk with the public.
The atmosphere remained relaxed and friendly throughout the event.
Three Days Dedicated to Cars
This 8th edition of Motors Addict Léman Classic offered a more intimate format, with fewer cars but greater interaction between participants and the public. The organizers also placed greater emphasis on classic cars and GTs.
For Gentleman Car, these three days in Morzine were above all an opportunity to drive the Shelby Cobra 289 FIA, showcase Carroll Shelby’s motorhome and share our passion with the visitors.
Despite the incident on the first day involving the motorhome’s tire, the trip ended on a positive note, and we returned home with many great memories from this edition.
