Xavier Dayraut joins the Gentleman Car Racing Team!
A driver, race car preparer, and true motorsport enthusiast, Xavier Dayraut is joining the Gentleman Car Racing Team this year. He is taking on a challenge that befits his background: getting behind the wheel of a Shelby AC Cobra 289 FIA in the “Sixties’ Endurance by Peter Auto” series. Coming from a family where a passion for cars is passed down through the generations, Xavier grew up immersed in the world of mechanics alongside his father, Jean-Claude Dayraut. At 33, he already boasts extensive experience across numerous disciplines, including the Porsche 2.0L Cup, Ligier JS Cup, Mitjet Series, Porsche Sprint Challenge, GT4, karting, ice racing (SSV), and endurance racing. His track record reflects this versatility, highlighted by a European Championship title in the Porsche 2.0L Cup in 2021, as well as multiple podiums and victories in Ligier JS Cup endurance racing between 2023 and 2025. The Gentleman Car Racing Team was born from a simple ambition: to bring the Shelby racing legacy to life. The team’s mission is to support and guide talented drivers capable of showcasing Carroll Shelby’s iconic cars—the Cobra, Daytona, and GT40—on the track, in historic races, championships, and automotive exhibitions. A new chapter is now being written with Xavier Dayraut at the wheel of a Shelby AC Cobra 289 FIA, competing in a category where authenticity, performance, and automotive history converge. We welcome Xavier to the Gentleman Car Racing Team.
